Lap it up!

High-speed video footage has captured the lapping technique of cats.  For years, cats have intrigued scientists by their abilities to lap relatively large volumes of liquid in a short amount of time, without making a mess.  It seems that the technique applied by cats, is essential to keep their faces, and specifically whiskers, clean and dry.  Because whiskers are so important to cats, it is important not to cut them.
